That’s how long I’ve been on the road for. Zoe and I left home in Singapore at 4.30pm, picked up AJ, said a teary goodbye at the airport (yes, I’m a sop) and were meant to set off at 7.45pm for Christchurch, except that there was something wrong with the plane and we had to change to another aircraft. So departure time was pushed back to 9.45pm.
Then, after a 10 hour plane ride in which I hardly slept, turns out we were too late to catch the connecting flight to Dunedin that we were supposed to take, so now we’re waiting 3 hours to take the next flight. We’ve still got another 1.5 hours to go. By the time we get to my sister’s place, we’d probably have been on the road for 20 hours! I’ve practically flown to the States!
This is my first time travelling alone with Zoe. All in all it’s been pretty good, people are generally friendly and helpful. I’d say it’s pretty doable for Mums, you just have to be prepared for little sleep, and you have to roll with the punches.
Took a break before as Zoe woke up from her nap. We’re now half an hour away from our flight. So close….
